Congratulations to azakaw: Named an IDC Innovator in Middle East RegTech 2026

08 APR 2026

We are proud to congratulate azakaw on being named one of three RegTech Innovators for the Middle East by IDC in its 2026 Innovators report covering regulatory technology providers across the region.

This recognition means a great deal to us, not simply because azakaw was built inside j. awan & partners, but because of what it represents. More than a decade of compliance expertise, practitioner knowledge and a deep understanding of what regulated firms in this region actually need, translated into a platform that is changing how compliance is done.

Where azakaw came from

azakaw did not begin as a technology project. It began as a response to a problem we saw repeatedly in our advisory work: regulated firms managing compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with fragmented tools, manual processes and no single source of truth. Firms facing regulatory examinations without the evidence infrastructure to support their decisions. Compliance teams stretched across spreadsheets, email trails and disconnected systems, spending their time managing tools rather than managing risk.

We built azakaw to solve that. A platform designed by practitioners, for practitioners, built to orchestrate the full compliance lifecycle in one place: digital onboarding, AML screening, transaction monitoring and corporate governance. Every module connected. Every action recorded. Every decision audit-ready.

azakaw was not adapted from an existing product. It was built from the ground up, by people who had spent years inside the regulatory environments it serves.

What the platform delivers

The results speak to the need azakaw was designed to address. Clients onboard five times faster. Compliance costs reduce by 30%. Fraud decreases by 65%. False positives drop by 80%. Reporting that once took days is generated in minutes. The platform operates continuously across 200 countries and territories, with regulatory templates aligned to DFSA, FSRA, CBUAE, CMA, SAMA and regulators across the wider MENA region, UK and Singapore.

“Our clients and prospects often tell us one thing: azakaw is the most comprehensive compliance platform they have come across. azakaw was built to empower compliance teams across the full lifecycle: CDD, EDD, KYC and document renewals, obligation tracking and reporting, all in one place. azakaw serves as a single source of truth. When a regulator asks for evidence, every action is time-stamped, who did what and when, audit-ready and retrievable in minutes, not days. Having IDC independently validate that through its own research confirms what our clients already know. It also tells the rest of the market.” Zohaib Awan, Group Director, Business Development

A recognition the team has earned

IDC’s decision to name azakaw a Middle East RegTech Innovator reflects the work of a team that has never taken shortcuts. The platform was built on the same expertise that underpins our advisory practice, with the same commitment to rigour, the same depth of regulatory knowledge and the same focus on what actually works in practice.

We congratulate every member of the azakaw team on this recognition. It is thoroughly deserved.

For regulated institutions looking to transform their compliance infrastructure, azakaw is ready.
