David Bryden
Director – Head of UK & Ireland
David is a senior member of j. awan & partners and is the Head of our London office covering the UK, Ireland, and Crown Dependencies.
David brings over 25 years’ experience of front office and GRC matters in leading banks, asset managers and brokerage businesses including Coutts & Co, BlackRock, Credit Suisse First Boston and Bank of America. He has held senior UK roles in KPMG’s risk consulting and Deloitte’s audit practices, where he led complex authorisations, cross-border risk assessments, change initiatives, regulatory investigations and remediation. As a regulator at the UK FSA/FCA, David led the development of the wealth management and private banking supervision division and worked extensively across conduct (COBS), systems and controls (SYSC) and product design and governance (PROD) initiatives across both retail and wholesale markets.
David holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from Queen’s University, Canada and a Master of Science, Economics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and has held the FCA SMF 16 & 17 (Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer) designations.
