Aisha holds the position of Associate Director – Compliance and is based in Abu Dhabi (UAE) office of j. awan & partners.
Aisha’s experience was gained over a successful 10-year international career in compliance, risk, legal and financial services consultancy roles. Aisha ventured into the compliance sector in 2011 with the aim of understanding and navigating the ever-changing nature of laws, rules, and regulations in order to contribute to the success and growth of financial services entities. As a highly experienced and effective GRC professional, Aisha delivers excellence through her ability to advise and review each entity’s systems and controls, assessing the risks identified for mitigation and prevention whilst continuing to strive for excellence. Aisha has held roles with institutions ranging from local firms, investment and retail banks, wealth and asset management businesses and multinationals.
Aisha is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (Nigeria, West Africa) and holds a BSc (Hons) in Civil Law (Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria) and an MSc in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulations (University of Warwick).
